The problem facing garden materials suppliers was not being able to quickly supply an accurate quotation for slabs in a patio or paving project and thus lose a customer.
They had tried employing more personnel to deal with quotations, but that increased business costs and required expensive training in CAD systems. But even that did not solve the problem, as a detailed quotation and plan was required right there on the spot.
The requirement for the system was that it needed to calculate the exact quantities for the bespoke area size and shape instantly when the customer was on the phone. The calculation had to be completed with the pricing for various options of products and size combinations. Finally, it had to produce a laying pattern for the customer and the purchase details.
